A human skull was found in a wooded area near a cemetery in Towson, according to Baltimore County police.
Friday evening around 9 p.m., Baltimore County Police responded to Kenilworth Drive and Bosley Avenue for the report of a skull found in the woods.
Police said the wooded area was near Pleasant Rest Cemetery. Crime scene investigators requested the state medical examiner to evaluate the skull, which was later determined to be human, police said.
The skull showed no indication of trauma and is believed to have been in the woods for “several decades,” said Baltimore County Police Department Officer Tyler Rivers.
Rivers noted that there was no evidence of disturbed graves at the cemetery and that police do not believe the skull is a cause for concern.
