ST. PAUL, Min. – A St. Paul-based company announces a multi-million dollar investment in the city as they mark a century in business.

Ecolab announced Sunday that they plan to invest $2 million in a project in partnership with the city.

They plan to convert the sidewalk and concrete plaza outside their headquarters into a green space.

They announced the project at a staff party in Rice Park on Sunday. CEO Christophe Beck and Senator Amy Klobuchar were among those in attendance.

“St. Paul is our home. It’s where it all started, it’s where the company is run. That’s where the visions are developed,” said Beck. “And we have 3,000 people living and working here, and St. Paul and our company are the same. So we want to contribute as much as we can to the future of St. Paul, to the beauty of St. Paul. To have a city that is safe , which is thriving, that’s a place where people want to come.”

The company specializes in cleaning, disinfection, food safety and infection prevention products and services. They say the project should be completed early next year.
