As team captain of the LaPorte County Democratic Party, I must take strong exception to the unfair and unwarranted criticism that a Marion County ministers group has leveled at our state chairman, Mike Schmuhl.
Briggs: Indiana Democrats have done a lot of things right. It didn’t matter.
We have found that Schmuhl is very responsive to the needs of local parties in the state. Case in point: just as our local party was asking for help to assist our Democratic state Rep. Pat Boy, who was facing an unexpectedly big challenge, Schmuhl sent two key mailers here that helped win that tight race by 500 votes.
With all due respect to the ministerial association, they have no idea what Schmuhl has done to build our party across the state while operating under the ill effects of enormous headwinds at the national level.
