A murder investigation led to a shooting after officers attempted to arrest the possible suspect Monday morning.
According to Irvine police, officers received a report of an injured person at a home on Whistling Swan, near Wetstone, around 2:15 a.m.
When authorities arrived on the scene, they found one person dead inside the home.
Around 3:25 a.m., an officer encountered the possible suspect at the intersection of West Yale Loop and Stone Creek South and shot the suspect, police said.
The suspect was taken to hospital in unknown condition.
The incident is still under investigation.
