Israel says it has been shelled from Lebanon despite the ceasefire

For the first time since the start of the ceasefire with the Hezbollah militia, Israel has again come under fire from its northern neighbor Lebanon, the Israeli army said on Monday.

The target of the Hezbollah attack was the Har Dov area right on the Lebanese border, the army said. The projectiles hit open ground and there were no casualties.

Har Dov, also known as Shebaa Farms, is located in the far north of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights. Hezbollah confirmed the attack and said it was intended as a warning to Israel, which had “repeatedly violated the ceasefire.”

Since the ceasefire came into effect last Wednesday, Israel and Hezbollah have accused each other of violations.

Despite the ceasefire, the Israeli army repeatedly attacked air and ground targets in Lebanon on Monday. Israel said it was responding to violations by the pro-Iranian militia.
