Israel’s chief of general staff says there will be a response to Iran

There will be a response to the unprecedented Iranian missile and drone attack on Israel, Israeli Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi said, addressing Nevatim Air Base on Monday.

“As we look ahead, we are considering our steps,” he told the base involved in defending Israel against the attack that took place late Saturday evening.

An attack with that many rockets on Israeli territory would be followed by a response, Halevi said.

Israel is considering a response that would be painful for Iran without sparking a regional war, according to a report after a meeting of the country’s war cabinet on Monday. No official statement has been made yet, but several options have reportedly been considered.
