Joel Embiid is back.
The All-Star 76ers Center returned to the Philadelphia-Line-up on Tuesday evening to help lead a 118-116 victory over a Dallas Mavericks team that played in the aftermath of the trade in Luka Dončić.
Embiid placed a triple-double with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists. And he scored the Go-Ahead Emmer with 22 seconds on a pass by Guerschon Yabusele to secure an edge of 117-116 76ers.
The Mavericks do not score again when the 76 people held up for a victory in Embiid’s return of a 15-game absence with foot and knee injuries.
Embiid was not only in leading the 76 people. Tyrese Maxey was the most important scorer of Philadelphia with 33 points, 13 assists, four rebounds and two steals. Yabusele added 19 points, eight rebounds and four assists.
Anthony Davis joins Mavericks, but does not play
The 76ers won without Paul George against a shortened Mavericks team that does not yet have an active Anthony Davis. Davis was on the sidelines for the first time as an outsider after he had been treated for Dončić.
But he sat with an abdominal tension that he suffered last week while playing for the Lakers. He said on Thursday that he might be able to return to the court on Thursday for the NBA Finals of Mavericks Rematch against the Boston Celtics.
Will 76ers make the play -offs?
The competition was only the 14th of the season for Embiid. For various reasons, including suspension, injury management and the foot disease and the swelling of the knee that recently put aside, EMBIID missed 35 of the 49 games of Philadelphia.
Tuesday’s match was the fifth consecutive that George missed with a tendon injury in his left Pentecost. George has missed a total of 19 games since he arrived outside the season via the clippers.
The extensive absence of both Embiid and George have the hope of Philadelphia to compete on top of the Eastern Conference. With Tuesday’s victory, they improved to 20-29, leaving them in 11th place in the rankings of the conference. The hope in Philadelphia is now that Embiid and George can stay healthy enough to keep the 76 people in the Playoff race.
