CHICAGO (CBS) — Illinois leaders celebrate a grand grand opening Friday in the southwestern suburb of Joliet.
Lion Electric opened its new 900 square foot factory for electric school buses and trucks.
It is the largest factory in the country and will produce about 20,000 electric vehicles per year, employing hundreds of people.
It is also the first new vehicle assembly plant to open in the Chicago area since 1965.
