Kit Harington, best known for his role as Jon Snow in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” joins the cast of the financial drama “Industry.” In the new season, Harington plays Sir Henry Muck, the founder and CEO of a green technology company that goes public.
Harington, who watched ‘Industry’ in one sitting during the ’90s, corona pandemicsaid he was attracted to the script and the energy of the young cast.
“When I started, I was immediately sold,” he says.
Despite his extensive acting experience, Harington admitted he was nervous about joining the cast because he considered himself a “fanboy” of the show, similar to how some guest actors felt on “Game of Thrones.”
Harington described his character, Sir Henry Muck, as a “posh idiot”, calling him clever and charming but someone who, because of his privileged background, has little self-knowledge.
“He’s always had a safety net under him, so he doesn’t have to. He can just be who he wants to be, and that’s not always the best thing,” Harington said.
He said he drew inspiration for Sir Henry Muck from real people who he will not name. He described his character as a “tech bro” but with “a British class background.”
“I thought it was an attractive combination to get my teeth into,” Harington said.
Harington has a special place in his heart for the infamous Jon Snow.
“It took a couple of years to process what that whole journey was, and to let go of him as a character. But now, after doing some work over the last couple of years to process it all in some way, I have nothing but affection and love for him,” Harington said.
