Residents and business owners of La Cañada Flintridge can get $250 off a security system through a city-sponsored rebate program.
“We are excited about this new rebate program because this initiative allows our residents to actively participate in improving the safety of our city,” said Mayor Michael Davitt. “By encouraging the installation of surveillance systems, we are building a stronger network of security that can deter crime, support law enforcement investigations and overall make La Cañada Flintridge an even safer place to live, work and play.”
The program is first come, first served and is limited to one claim per household or business. The rebate applies to the hardware and initial installation of items that comprise a standalone home alarm or a type of system that includes features such as:
- security camera system
- doorbell camera
- outdoor spotlight with cameras
- motion sensor light with cameras
Residents must provide proof of residence in La Cañada Flintridge on a valid government-issued ID and a utility bill that matches the name and address on the proof of residence to enroll in the program. Businesses must own or lease a property where the security camera is installed. Tenants must provide a signed letter from the property owner authorizing the installation.
These are the steps you need to take to get the one-time discount:
- Submit a request within 60 days of the purchase date.
- Upload proof of residence on a valid government-issued ID.
- Upload a recent energy bill for the property that matches the name and address on the proof of residence permit.
- Upload proof of purchase of a system after Sunday, September 1, 2024.
- Upload a photo of the opened devices showing the serial/model number.
- Upload proof of installation with a dated photo showing installation took place after Sunday, September 1, 2024.
The city has implemented a similar program last year.
Applications will be accepted from Tuesday, September 3rd.
