Detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Homicide Unit are asking for the public’s help in finding those responsible for the 2023 shooting death of a man at a South Los Angeles gas station.

On Wednesday, the LAPD again offered a $50,000 reward. The reward is available to anyone with information about the case that can help identify the person or people involved in the murder, which could ultimately lead to an arrest and conviction.

In December 2023, LAPD detectives responded to a shooting at a gas station on Manchester Avenue and Hoover Street. According to police, Marquette Scott, 32, of Victorville, was sitting in his parked car when an unknown suspect approached him and shot him.

The motive is still under investigation. The reward was increased on April 3, after detectives with the LAPD South Bureau Homicide Division exhausted all investigative leads and resources.

Anyone with information regarding this case should contact South Bureau Homicide Detectives at (323) 786-5110.
