LASD officer hospitalized after motorcycle crash on Freeway 105 in Downey

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy was hospitalized Friday evening after a crash on the 105 Freeway in Downey.

According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened in the westbound lanes of I-105 near the Paramount Boulevard exit around 5:20 p.m.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain unclear, but the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said it involved a deputy from the South Los Angeles station.

SkyCal was overhead when the deputy, who appeared alert and was speaking with other law enforcement officers at the scene, was loaded into the back of an ambulance.

Their condition was unknown.
