CHICAGO (CBS)- A man then faces multiple charges grabbing a Chicago police officer’s gun and firing a shot during a battle in Lincoln Park.
Police arrested Thomas Tucker, 29, Friday night, at the 2100 block of North Cleveland Avenue.
At around 8:53 p.m., police were called to criminal damage to property near the six-way intersection with Lincoln and Dickens Avenues.
At the scene, they met a victim who led them to an alley, where an officer found the suspect, police said.
The suspect and the officer got into a fight, with the suspect grabbing the officer’s gun and firing a shot, police said.
No one was hit and the officer was able to regain control of the gun.
The suspect ran off, but was apprehended a short time later by other officers.
Tucker faces five felony counts, including grievous wounding to a peace officer, disarming a peace officer, aggravated assault with the firing of a firearm, resisting arrest, and reckless firing of a firearm.
He is due to appear in court on Monday.
