Man convicted of ambulance robbery | News

CATLETSBURG A man who stole an ambulance from the ER entrance of King’s Daughters Medical Center was sentenced to 10 years in prison on Thursday.

Dewyane Anderson, 52, of West Portsmouth, pleaded guilty last month to charges related to the February 2022 robbery that led to a police chase that ended at the Russell/Ironton bridge.

Boyd County Circuit Court Judge John Vincent imposed the 10-year period on Anderson during the open motion roll Thursday.

Neither Anderson nor his attorney, public defender Whitney Davis, made statements to the court.

The ambulance robbery was one of three police pursuits conducted by the Ashland Police Department within a 24-hour period between February 6, 2022 and February 7, 2022.
