“We don’t know, we are exploring all possibilities of this research. That is pending further investigation. We do know that the dog was a Frenchie. We don’t have the color of the dog yet, but we will get it soon,” said Atlanta Police Department Captain Jeff Childers.
As for the neighbours, the incident has left them shocked.
“I’m worried because I feel like I just moved in there and I wonder if I picked the wrong place, and I have a Standard Poodle, a coveted breed. If this happened because they were chasing a dog , then that worries me,” said neighbor Jeremy Scott.
Witnesses told police a car drove away after the shooting. Officers found it and tried to pull over the driver, but they fled, abandoning the car before police could catch them.
Police are continuing to investigate the shooting. Anyone with information on this matter is asked to call the Atlanta Police Department or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477.
