Man dead in shooting at Best Western Plus. The police are investigating a murder.

MISHAWAKA – A Michigan man has been found dead after a shooting at the Best Western Plus over the weekend.

Mishawaka police responded to the hotel on West University Drive around 3:30 a.m. on Jan. 20 for a report of a shooting. Officers found a 44-year-old shooting victim, Anthony Korolis, in a room, police said in a Jan. 20 news release. He died at the scene, police said.

Witnesses were found in and around the hotel as police continue to follow any leads, police said on January 21. The police department believes this is an isolated incident with no threat to the community, they said.

Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact the department’s Detective Bureau at 574-258-1684 or leave an anonymous tip with Michiana Crime Stoppers through the app, online or by calling 574 -288-7867. Tips leading to an arrest are allowed for a monetary reward.
