A suspect was taken into custody after allegedly firing as many as 50 rounds from two battle rifles and a pistol.

Witnesses say the man fired bullets from the roof and a balcony of a complex at Via Marina and Catamaran Street around 10:15 p.m. Saturday.

The shooter was reportedly armed with two AR-15 style rifles and a handgun and was repeatedly reloaded as sheriff’s SWAT teams attempted to de-escalate the situation.

Witnesses described the incident as terrifying.

“We’ve never had any type of active shooter situation or anything like that at this level and it’s all residential for the most part, it’s very concerning,” one resident shared.

The suspect was later taken into custody. His identity has not been released. There are no reports of anyone being injured.
