August 7 – A man has died after a crash on Ash Road Tuesday morning.

Elkhart County deputies report that at 9:09 a.m., Sasha Kenyon, 38, of Marcellus, Michigan, was driving a Chevrolet sedan at a high rate of speed when he veered off the west side of the road and struck several trees, splitting the vehicle in half.

Kenyon was found thrown from the vehicle and died of internal injuries, according to the police file.

BURGLARY

A 41-year-old man reported a burglary in progress to Goshen police at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday in the 1000 block of 11th Street.

CAR THEFT

A 53-year-old man reported to Goshen police at 5:42 a.m. Tuesday morning that a motorcycle had been stolen from the 200 block of South 10th Street Friday night.

CRIMINAL DEBT

—A 27-year-old woman reported to Goshen police at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday that someone had broken a window of a Chevrolet Silverado in the 800 block of North Fifth Street.

—A 42-year-old man reported to Elkhart County police at 5:15 p.m. Tuesday that someone had broken his car’s headlight and dented his car door at his home in the 55000 block of Phillips Street.

THEFT

—Gallops Service Station, 18423 U.S. 20, Goshen, reported to Elkhart County deputies at 8 a.m. Monday that someone had attempted to steal property.

—A 63-year-old man reported to Elkhart County deputies that someone stole his black 2001 mobile home from the 29000 block of Driftwood on February 28.

FRAUD

A 20-year-old woman reported to Elkhart County police at 3:41 p.m. Tuesday that someone had filed false claims to get $1,400.
