Matt Rempe’s short spell back at Rangers ends with a controversial goal

Matt Rempe was called up by the New York Rangers when he played in their 5-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Monday night.

Rempe made headlines, to say the least, with his aggressive play.

The 22-year-old was involved in a huge scrum that took place at the end of the second period and that was just the start of all the theater.

In the third period, Rempe beat Jake Neighbors in the neutral zone when he didn’t have the puck in what many considered a dirty play.

Ultimately, Rempe was awarded a very untimely penalty because of that play, further hampering the Rangers’ momentum.

The Rangers sent Rempe back to the Hartford Wolf Pack after the game and elevated Chad Ruhwedel.
