NAACP Staunton Branch holds elections

STAUNTON – The Staunton Chapter of the NAACP announced in a press release that they will hold biennial chapter elections on Thursday, November 14. Each election year, the department must complete a three-month process that includes appointing a nominating committee, reviewing membership lists to identify “members in good standing” and navigating the nomination process to ensure compliance with state and national requirements for elections guarantee, according to the press release.

When the Nomination Committee completes its task, the process shifts to the Election Monitoring Committee. This committee is responsible for ensuring that the election process itself is completed, again based on state and national requirements. In addition, this committee can provide support to industry members on election day if necessary. This year the Election Committee is chaired by industry member Agatha Coleman.
