WHAT WENT WELL…
Jeff McCulloch/Rivals.com
Michigan rotating five-star quarterback Bryce Underwood away from LSU was the biggest story of the recruiting cycle. It brought the NIL conversation to the forefront and showed that the Wolverines are willing to act as a blueblood in that regard. Signing Underwood could completely change the coach’s tenure Sherron Moore in Michigan. It should also be noted that the Wolverines achieved their goal of signing the top prospects in Michigan after landing the top four players in the state.
WHAT WENT WRONG…
Michigan lost a commitment to a four-star tight end Andreas Oles against Big Ten foe Penn State. Olesh committed to Michigan in July, but he kept his options open by making trips to other programs throughout the fall. He ultimately made a decision between Michigan, Oregon and Penn State.
FAREWELL PREDICTION
This class produces multiple first-round NFL Draft picks. All the talk about Underwood overlooks the fact that there is another legitimate top talent in the class. Five-star defensive lineman Nathaniel Marshallfive-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng and a high four-star offensive tackle Andreas Babalola all have the potential to be high selections in a future draft.
