NFL Analyst Makes Absurd Record Prediction For Bears This Season, Originally Appearing On NBC Sports Chicago
It is well documented that the host of Good morning footballKyle Brandt, is a super fan of the Chicago Bears.
He has preached Justin Fields’ trajectory, putting forward his arguments in favor of head coach Matt Eberflus and the team’s overall success.
During a performance on The Rich Eisen Show, he became intoxicated with the Bears’ anticipated success this season. Game by game, Brandt went over the upcoming season schedule with Eisen and submitted his record regular season projection for the Bears.
Brandt overzealous predicted that the Bears would finish 13-4 during the regular season.
The only losses the Bears suffer, according to Brandt, are against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Los Angeles Chargers, once against the Detroit Lions and the penultimate week against the Atlanta Falcons. Brandt claims the latest loss is partly due to the Bears looking too quickly into the playoffs.
He also predicted that the Bears would make a clean sheet in NFL awards. He projects an MVP for Fields, Coach of the Year for Eberflus, and a Rookie of the Year award for Darnell Wright.
Clearly, the odds of all of Brandt’s projections becoming reality are slim.
The Bears have had a season in which they posted the worst record in the NFL at 3-14. They earned the first selection in the NFL draft by finishing in last place in the league.
Yes, the Bears made several brave and intriguing moves during the off-season. They traded for DJ Moore, drafted Wright, signed Tremaine Edmunds and TJ Edwards, and improved several weak spots on their roster.
How high can the Bears fly this season?
The ceiling is promising, but certainly not as lofty as Brandt projects.
