If you had done business with the North Carolina Division of Motor Vehicles on Thursday, you may have had to reschedule.
The NCDMV said Thursday that a computer connectivity problem was affecting transactions at all of the state’s 112 driver’s license offices.
The problem also affected self-service kiosks, license plate agencies and online services.
According to NCDMV, they started having trouble connecting to the mainframe computer. It stemmed from problems with the North Carolina Department of Information Technology’s mainframe.
As of 3:15 p.m., NCDMV’s connection to the NCDIT mainframe had been restored, allowing it to resume processing transactions in person, online and at the self-service kiosks.
NCDIT will continue to monitor its systems.
