Officers are warning of scams after people say they’ve received calls from someone claiming to be from the Eaton Police Department.

The caller may tell people that they have a search warrant, that they have to pay money, or that they are at risk of arrest.
The department issued a warning via social media.
They said Eaton police will never ask for money, personal banking information or credit card information.
They said scammers use the real names of Eaton Police officers and can spoof the department number.
Officers advise that no personal information should be provided over the phone.
They say that if someone has been a victim, it should be reported.
