Officials are warning residents about phone scammers posing as city employees.

The City of Dayton posted an alert on their Facebook page about reports of phone scams targeting Dayton residents.

The scammer is reportedly calling residents claiming to be an employee of the City of Dayton and asking for private information.
City officials said they will never ask for personal information by phone, email or social media.
“If you receive such a request, please DO NOT share any information. and report it to the police. Stay safe, Dayton!” read the message.
