One arrested, inmate hospitalized after stabbing at Northeast Philadelphia jail, police say

One inmate was hospitalized after a stabbing at the Philadelphia Industrial Correctional Center in Northeast Philadelphia on Saturday evening, police said.

Philadelphia police discovered the stabbing at the State Road jail in the Holmesburg neighborhood at 6 p.m.

A 32-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the head and face, police said.

The man was taken by medics to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital and was listed as stable.

An arrest was made and no weapons were recovered.

This incident happened just a day later two inmates were injured in a double stabbing at the Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility.
