OAKLAND — Police say someone was shot and killed in East Oakland on Thursday night.
Officers were dispatched to the 7900 block of Ney Avenue around 7 p.m. after receiving multiple ShotSpotter reports.
When officers arrived on scene, they found a victim with at least one gunshot wound. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
Police learned that several injured people had been taken to nearby hospitals.
The victim’s identity is being kept secret until the next of kin are informed.
