According to the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, one person was killed in a shooting Tuesday night and another person was hospitalized.
The shooting occurred in the Dalzell area of ​​Sumter County, the sheriff’s office said in a news release Wednesday. Specific information about where in that part of South Carolina’s Midlands region the shooting occurred or when was not available.
According to the press release, one of the victims of the shooting died at the scene.
The Sumter County Coroner’s Office is expected to release the victim’s identity after family has been notified.
The surviving victim was taken to Prisma Health Tuomey Hospital and is expected to make a full recovery, the sheriff’s office said. No further information about the victim’s condition was available.
There were no other injuries.
