The Pegasus World Cup Invitational was run for the first time on January 28, 2017 and has since been a prominent horse racing event with its large wallets and even bigger names. The race was initially proposed to offer the best horses a final high-stakes race before they withdrew during the breeding season, which starts in mid-February in North America.
Some of the most announced 4-year-old horses and recognized trainers participated in the Headline event organized by Gulfstream Park, making it one of the most expected posts on the racing calendar. Apart from the Pegasus World Cup Invitational, two other races have also become a large part of the event schedule: the Pegasus Filly & Mare Turf and the Pegasus World Cup Turf. Here is part of the history of the Pegasus World Cup.
