Person rescued from water at Jackson Park, officials say

CHICAGO (CBS)- The Chicago Fire Department rescued a person who fell into water in Jackson Park on Saturday night.

In a tweet, Chicago firefighters said a dive team arrived at 5900 S. Lake Shore Drive at around 11:56 p.m.

A bystander saw the adult victim fall into the water and reported it.

In total darkness and zero visibility, the victim was rescued into cardiac arrest, firefighters said.

After receiving aggressive advanced life support from paramedics at the scene, the victim was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition.

The age and gender of the victim are unknown.
