STAMFORD – According to local police, a person was shot on Thursday evening during a drug deal on the campus of Stamford Hospital.
Patrol officers arrived at Tully Health Center, 32 Strawberry Hill Court, around 9:37 p.m. Thursday for a report that a male victim had been shot in the arm, Captain Thomas Scanlon of the Stamford Police Department’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations said Friday afternoon. Responding units stopped a vehicle that was fleeing and identified the occupants as possible suspects, Scanlon said.
According to Scanlon, neither the victim nor the suspects were residents of Stamford. A preliminary investigation found they met in the Tully Health Center parking lot to complete a drug deal, Scanlon said. During the transaction, Scanlon said, a struggle allegedly occurred, culminating in the shooting. The victim was transported to Stamford Hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Scanlon said the investigation is ongoing.
