Police are investigating a shooting near downtown Fresno that sent one man to the hospital

Police are investigating a shooting on Sunday evening that sent a man to hospital.

Officers responded to the shooting at Blackstone and Voorman avenues at 9:15 p.m. and located a man with a gunshot wound in the business parking lot, Fresno police Lt. Robert Dewey said.

The man, in his 30s, was taken to a local hospital and is in critical condition.

Dewey said there was an argument between the victim and the shooter when two shots were fired between DiCiccio’s and a mini-mart.

The gunman then fled in a dark-colored sedan and left the parking lot westbound on Blackstone.

Detectives will be on scene for several hours to investigate the shooting.

Anyone with information is asked to call police 559-621-7000.
