CHICAGO (CBS) — A wild scene broke out in downtown Chicago Thursday night as police chased a suspected bank robber.
Just after 5 p.m., the Huntington Bank branch at 222 N. LaSalle St., near Wacker Driver, was held up.
Police chased the suspect through the Loop. At one point, a large police presence was seen outside Daley Plaza and the CBS Chicago Broadcast Center as police searched for the suspect.
Police eventually apprehended the suspect at 11th and State Streets in the South Loop, about a mile from the original crime scene. Ironically, the intersection where the suspect was arrested is also the former headquarters of the Chicago Police Department.
How much money was taken in the bank robbery and other details about the crime were not immediately available.
