Police search for missing man in Long Beach

Police are asking for the community’s help in searching for an at-risk 55-year-old who went missing in Long Beach Sunday afternoon.

According to Long Beach police, Pedro Renteria Jr. last seen on December 8 around 11:45 a.m. in the 3300 block of Magnolia Avenue and has not been heard from since.

The department describes Renteria as a Hispanic male who is 6 feet tall, weighs approximately 185 pounds and has gray hair and hazel eyes.

“He suffers from mental illness and can become disoriented,” police wrote in a press release.

Renteria was last reported to be traveling on foot and police say he was wearing a gray sweater, black pants, black shoes and had a white WanderGuard bracelet on his right wrist.

Additionally, Renteria reportedly has surgical scars in the center and around the right side of his head.

Police say Renteria’s destination is unknown, and urge anyone with information about this missing person to call the LBPD Missing Persons Detail at 562-570-7246 or Police Dispatch at 562-435-6711.
