President-elect Trump would choose Marco Rubio as Secretary of State

President-elect Donald Trump is expected to choose Senator Marco Rubio of Florida as secretary of state for his administration, NBC News reports.

NBC News, citing multiple sources, said the announcement is expected in the coming days.

Trump had previously considered Rubio as his running mate before ultimately choosing Sen. J.D. Vance, R-Ohio.

On Monday, the president-elect announced plans to appoint former Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y., as the top administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and Rep. Mike Waltz, R-Fla., as his national security adviser and Stephen Miller as deputy chief of staff for Policy.

Last week he announced that his campaign manager Susie Wiles would become White House chief of staff. Tom Homan, the former acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, was dubbed Trump’s “border czar.”

The decision will not be final until Trump makes a formal announcement.
