A movement to resist the early actions of the government of President Donald Trump starts online, with plans to protest in the US on Wednesday.
The movement is organized under the hashtags #buildthereSristance and #50501, which stands for 50 protests, 50 states, one day. Many of the protests are planned in Capitols, with some in other cities.
The movement has websites and accounts on social media. Flyers Circulate Online Decry Project 2025, a Playbook for the US government and society, and contain messages such as “rejecting fascism” and “defend our democracy.” In a coffee shop on just a block of the Capitol by Michigan, the organizers of a planned action put together tables there on Wednesday, where poster signs are distributed to write messages with the text “No deportations ever!” And “employees unite!”
