CHICAGO (CBS) — A brief, isolated shower is forecast between 8pm and midnight on Tuesday evening, but otherwise cloudy skies are expected as temperatures fall below freezing to near 30 degrees in the upper 20s.
As the weather pattern takes a more active turn for the center of the country on Wednesday, rain and snow could impact the region, with rain/snow more likely to remain south of the city. For anyone planning to head south of the city for the holidays, traveling could become difficult.
There is improvement with winter precipitation on Thanksgiving, but temperatures will drop. Highs from Friday will hover around the 20s, with overnight lows in the teens.
This cold wave will last the first days of next week.
