Rangers call up Matt Rempe’s replacement

With Matt Rempe headed to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League, the New York Rangers have recalled Jake Leschyshyn.

After playing just two of New York’s first seven games, the Rangers thought it would be best for Rempe’s development to play in the AHL.

Now Leschyshyn comes in to take Rempe’s place.

Leschyshyn was drafted by the Vegas Golden Knights in the second round of the 2017 NHL Draft.

The Rangers claimed Leschyshyn off waivers on January 11, 2023, and he has been with the organization ever since. He has played fourteen games for Rangers but has yet to score a point.

This season, the 25-year-old has one goal, two assists and three points in five games for the Hartford Wolf Pack.

Leschyshyn is not expected to play in the Rangers’ Saturday night game against the Anaheim Ducks.
