Report: Warriors met ‘Exorbitant’ Asking Prize for KD -trade Originally published on NBC Sports Bay Area
Could a reunion between Kevin Durant and the Warriors actually happen? Only if they are willing to put together a very substantial trading package.
Golden State has received an “exorbitant asking price” in exploratory durant conversations with the Phoenix Suns, the Athletic’s Sam Amick, David Aldridge and Anthony Slater reported in one piece on Tuesday.
According to the Atletic article, the Suns ask for “In essence everything of future value” of the Warriors in exchange for the 15-time NBA All-Star.
So what exactly does that mean? After NBA-Blockbusters of varying degrees at the weekend, it is impossible to tell what kind of trading package or multi-team deal it could take to relocate durant Phoenix to have noticed at least a few Golden State players .
Drayond Green is among Warriors players, the Suns are ‘known to Covet’, the athletics reported, with reference to competition sources. And Phoenix has indicated some interest in Jonathan Kuminga, according to athletics.
While the Warriors appreciates Kuminga, a trade for durant can be the deal that forces them to move the emerging star. And while Green is a franchise cornerstone that has won four NBA championships with Golden State, the attraction of adding durant to strive for another ring can force the Warriors to make some difficult decisions.
The Warriors are rushing to land a star before the NBA trading deadline, and they cast a wide net in their attempt to do this, competition sources told Monte Poole of NBC Sports Bay Area. Is that net as Phoenix? Dub Nation will soon find out when the deadline is approaching on Thursday.
