Robbers rob jewelry store in Chicago’s Southwest Side mall

CHICAGO (CBS) — A group of five robbers held a jewelry store at gunpoint in the southwest of the city on Monday evening.

At 5:50 p.m., the five men robbed the jewelry store in the Super Mall of the Midway, at 5220 S. Pulaski Rd. in the West Elsdon neighborhood. Police cars were seen outside the mall, an indoor marketplace where vendors sell jewelry, cell phones, clothing, crafts and other items.

During the robbery, one of the men destroyed display cases and took unknown goods.

A robber also demanded items from a woman in the store, after which they all fled south on Pulaski Road.

There were no injuries.

No one had been arrested as of Monday evening. Wentworth Area Detectives are investigating.
