The Buffalo Sabers are off to a rocky start to the 2024-2025 season. They lost each of their first three games in regulation, but did earn a crucial victory against the Florida Panthers yesterday (October 12). Their goal now will be to build on that, especially as their schedule eases up a bit over the next three games.

If the Sabers want to turn their season around, they need their top players to play at the highest level. Dylan Cozens is a specific player who wants to break the ice. The 6-foot-4 forward has zero points and a minus-3 rating in his first four games.
There’s no doubt that Cozens’ goal is to change that. The 2019 seventh overall pick is aiming for a bounce-back season in 2024-25, as he scored 18 goals and 47 points in 79 games last season. This was after he had a breakout season in 2022-23, recording career highs with 31 goals, 37 assists and 68 points in 81 games.
Noting that Cozens has shown the ability to produce like a star in the past, there’s no doubt he has the potential to overcome his slow start. He also created many chances and scored sixteen shots in his first four games. If he keeps this up, the goals will eventually come.
