Season 3 of ‘Euphoria’ is in limbo. What the show’s stars have been working on amid series delay.

Euphoria fans have been eagerly awaiting new episodes of the groundbreaking HBO series following the February 2022 season 2 finale. The bad news is that it looks like they’ll have to keep waiting.

Filming for the show’s third season has been postponed, Variety reports. A spokesperson for HBO said in a statement that the network and the series creator Sam Levinson “remain committed to creating an exceptional third season. In the meantime, we will allow our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”

Cast members like it Zendaya, Jacob Elordi And Sydney Sweeney have become household names since gaining fame through the series. Here’s a look at what they’ve been up to since walking the halls of East Highland High School.

As seen on Euphoria: The show is built around Zendaya’s character Rue Bennett. Rue just got out of rehab, but doesn’t stay sober for long and has trouble growing up.

What high-profile projects she has participated in: She reprized her role as Chani Dune: part two opposite Timothée Chalamet.

What she said about season 3: Zendaya hasn’t said anything publicly.

According to Variety, the actress has provided input on where she sees her character going and has created character arcs.

What’s next: She stars in Luca Guadagnino’s vibrant tennis film, Challengerswill be released on April 26.

Sydney Sweeney

As seen on Euphoria: Sweeney’s character, Cassie Howard, is as sweet as can be and popular to boot, but finds herself in the middle of drama as she navigates bad dating decisions and self-esteem.

What high-profile projects she has participated in: Sweeney recently co-produced and starred in the horror film Spotless as an American nun who discovers that her new convent ‘harbours a sinister secret’. She made her comic book film debut in Mrs. Web and tried his hand at a Shakespeare-inspired rom-com opposite Glen Powell Everyone but you.

What she said about season 3: Sweeney told Who What Wear in March that Cassie’s story for the upcoming season will be “really, really wild.”

Unlike Elordi, she said the time difference between the seasons is none of her business. “I actually like it because there’s so much room for growth for me as a person and also for Cassie as a character,” she said.

What’s next: Sweeney told Who What Wear that she is “very, very deep in the trenches with a lot of projects.” While it was rumored that she would play the lead role Bye drinker to Johnny Depp, her rep told Entertainment Weekly that she was not involved in the project. Her IMDB page listings Echo Valley And Eden as two of her next films.

Hunter Schafer

What high-profile projects she has participated in: She played Tigris in 2023 The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.

What she said about season 3: In a February interview with Variety, Schafer was candid. “I don’t know what I’m allowed to say, but I think it’s pretty clear that we haven’t started production yet,” she told the outlet.

What’s next: She is going to star in a mystery/horror film Cuckoo, which has a May release date. She also stars in the upcoming A24 film, Mother Marystarring Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel.

Sam Levinson

What high-profile projects he has been involved in: His much-discussed, controversial show The idolstarring Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp, ended prematurely and was canceled by HBO.

What he said about season 3: Levinson’s team declined to comment to Variety about the series’ future, citing HBO’s comment about how the network and creator “remain committed to creating an exceptional third season.”

In Elle’s August 2023 profile of Zendaya, Levinson said he saw Season 3 as a “film noir” and that the actress’ portrayal of Rue “made him want to explore what it means to be a principled individual in a corrupt world’.

What’s next: He has no other upcoming projects listed on IMDb other than Euphoria.
