Seven people were found clinging to a capsized boat in California’s cold bay, rescuers say

Seven people were found in cold ocean water clinging to a capsized boat, California fire officials reported.

Six adults and one child then entered Tomales Bay in Northern California boat overturned Saturday, April 13, around 3 p.m., the Marin County Fire Department said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.

Firefighters responding to a call for help from the boaters rescued all seven, officials said.

They were treated by paramedics for cold exposure, fire officials said. Three were taken to hospitals for further treatment.

Videos and photos accompanying the post show firefighters helping boaters from the water to shore.

Tomales Bay is located about 50 miles northwest of San Francisco.
