Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s home reportedly burns down in catastrophic fire; Jamie Lee Curtis and Mark Hamill among stars to evacuate area

As wildfires ravage parts of Los Angeles County, Hollywood stars are among those who have lost homes or been evacuated.

The hills Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag’s home in the Pacific Palisades has reportedly been destroyed by fire. He shared videos on social media as flames engulfed the home they share with their two young children.

“The nightmare has come true,” he wrote.

Pratt’s sister, Stephanie, revealed more about the fire, saying their father tried to save her brother’s home, but “he couldn’t do anything.” She was abroad in London but was told her home was also near the fire.

James Woods posted a photo of a fire spreading up a hill onto his deck.

The actor later wrote: ‘I couldn’t believe our beautiful little house in the hills had lasted so long. It feels like losing a loved one.”

The wildfires, known as the Palisades, Eaton and Hurst Fires in LA, have been devastating to the region, spreading quickly with winds of up to 90 miles per hour. At the time of writing, there is 0% fire control. Mandatory evacuations were issued for 80,000 residents. California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency.

Jamie Lee Curtis shared an image from photojournalist Ethan Swope of the “terrifying situation” on Instagram on January 8. The actress wrote that her “community and possibly my house is on fire. My family is safe. Many of my friends will lose their homes.”

Dan Levy, whose father, Eugene, was photographed in a standoff during the Pacific Palisades evacuation, shared a photo and wrote that he was “heartbroken for my family, my friends and the people of LA affected by these catastrophic fires.”

Mark Hamill called it the “most horrific fire since ’93” as he evacuated Malibu with his family.

Steve Guttenberg, who lives in Pacific Palisades, said on CNN that the fire was “the most incredible thing I have ever seen.” As he evacuated, he helped clear the cars left on the Pacific Coast Highway so firefighters could get through.

Jennifer Love Hewitt wrote: “I have no words. Just prayers and as much hope as possible for our home and our children as we watch everything burn. Thank you to every first responder who fought so hard for all of us. I want to thank every friend who has reached out and every new person I have tearfully hugged over the past 24 hours.”

Minnie Driver wrote that she “spent a long night watching my friends’ houses burn.”

Chet Hanks – son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, who have a home in Pacific Palisades – wrote that the “neighborhood I grew up in is burning to the ground.”

Mandy Moore told her fans that she had evacuated with her family, including her newborn baby, and their pets. The actress, who is staying with friends, said Wednesday that she does not know if their home survived and that she is “dismayed by the destruction and loss” throughout the area.

Eric Braeden, star ofThe young and the restless, shared a video of a fire “behind my house!” He called it “the worst EVER in LA!”

Cary Elwes shared images of his emergency exit from Malibu and described the fires as “biblical.”

Jay Pharoah shared an aerial video, saying it was captured from an airplane at night.

Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry Teller, live in Pacific Palisades. She posted photos of the devastation on her Instagram Stories and urged people on the run to leave water for animals that are also on the run.

Ben Affleck was photographed evacuating his Pacific Palisades home and heading to ex-wife Jennifer Garner’s nearby home, which was not under a mandatory evacuation.

Meanwhile, the Palisades Fire burned down Palisades Charter High School, which is a popular filming location, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The school was a setting for films, including Carrie, Crazy/beautiful, the 2003 remake of Crazy Friday and the Teenage wolf TV series.

The Screen Actors Guild nominations were scheduled to be announced live on January 8, but were announced via a press release “due to the wildfires and adverse wind conditions in Los Angeles.”
