Super Bowl: NFL referee Union responds to ‘offensive and ridiculous’ theories that leaders receive favorable calls

With the Chiefs of Kansas City to play for their third consecutive championship, the state of NFL is under the microscope prior to Sunday’s Super Bowl.

So much SP that Commissioner Roger Goodell has asked several questions about the integrity of officializing during his annual Super Bowl conference on Monday. There Goodell mentioned fantum theories that the NFL and its officials prefer the ‘leaders’ ridiculous’.

The NFL referees Association weighed in Tuesday with a statement from executive director Scott Green, who ran with Goodell’s comments from Monday.

“Goodell’s comments that it is ‘ridiculous’ to believe that NFL officials are not doing everything possible to make the right call on each game is perfect,” said Green, through a statement from the NFLRA. “Official crews do not work the same team more than twice every regular season.

“It is insulting and ridiculous to hear conspiracy theories that 17 hours are in one way or another that consist of 138 officials work together to help one team.”

Officer in the NFL is never in the spotlight. But the reign of the Chiefs Dynasty has only intensified it.

The Chiefs played this season in several controversial matches on national television and they certainly had their share in favorable phone calls in a season full of close games that produced a 15-2 record. Add that fans non-chiefs fans are generally sick of all these leaders who win, and theories are abundant that the competition and its officials work together to keep Kansas City on top.

It does not matter that there is no rational motivation for the competition to risk his integrity and his bottom line by illegally repairing games for one specific team. The NFL will earn its money, regardless of who wins the Super Bowl. But Sport Fandom is generally an emotional endeavor, not rational. And fans are not wrong that officializing the needs.

This is what Goodell had to say about the aforementioned theories on Monday:

“That is a ridiculous theory, for everyone who might take it seriously,” said Goodell. “It reflects a lot of the passion of the fans, and I think it is also a memory for us how important is judgmental. And I think the men and women who officially officize in the NFL are excellent. ‘

Green added on Tuesday with his statement.

“There are many things that fans can worry about a 17-game season, such as coaching decisions, player injuries, the weather and, yes, even close calls on incredible games made by incredible athletes,” the statement of Green continued. “But you can be sure that on every Down NFL officials, both on the field and in the Replay Cabin, everything that is humanly possible to officially officiate each game.”

Referee Ron Torbert’s official crew will be under the brightest spotlight on Sunday when the Chiefs play in the past six seasons in their fifth Super Bowl. And if there is a good call, that Kansas City is in a Chief victory, feel free to intensify that indignation and fan theories only intensify.
