A gunman is on the run after encountering a man in the Ortega area on Jacksonville’s west side.
Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office detectives are looking for witnesses and video surveillance following the shooting around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday.
According to JSO, a man in his 50s walked into a hospital with gunshot wounds. The man’s condition is critical but stable.
JSO says the man was involved in an altercation when he was shot multiple times in the Catoma Street and Timuquana Road area. The victim was shot in the chest, arm and finger.
