Oct. 25—GRAND FORKS — Police have decided to move forward with a homicide investigation after a suspicious death in Grand Forks.
Following a 911 call shortly after 9 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, police responded to the 100 block of Cherry Street to find an unconscious man inside a residence, according to a news release from the Grand Forks Police Department.
The man, 49 years old, suffered injuries that were “suspicious in nature”, according to the press release sent to the media. Life-saving measures were attempted but he was pronounced dead at Altru Hospital.
The man’s name has not yet been released.
According to the press release, “A person of interest has been identified. It is believed this individual and the victim knew each other.” The person in question has not yet been identified as it is an active investigation, the GFPD statement said.
