LYNN – One teen is facing murder charges and another teen is facing a gun charge after a person was stabbed to death in a Lynn convenience store on Tuesday night.
Police said the victim was stabbed around 6pm at the Alpha Convenience Store in Freeman Square
The teenager charged with murder will appear as an adult in Lynn District Court on Wednesday.
The second teenager, whose name has not been released because he is a minor, is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon.
The store owner told WBZ that an argument had broken out in the store between a group of teenagers. During that fight, one of the teens was stabbed and the others ran away. The victim was pronounced dead a short time later at Salem Hospital.
“When they hit each other, they just knocked over the shelf, a few machines were broken,” shop owner Maksedur Khan said.
While researchers don’t believe the public is in danger, longtime residents say this type of violence harms the community.
The age and name of the victim have not yet been released.
