Travelers preparing to fly out of John Glenn Columbus International Airport should anticipate noticeable changes at the airport.

Passengers traveling to John Glenn International will experience a number of changes starting Monday, according to airport officials.
First, there will be an adjustment to the traffic pattern at International Gateway:

Eastbound traffic on the International Gateway will be reduced to two lanes and shift north before widening again near the terminal.

To ensure safety during this transition, the speed limit in the area will be reduced.

Secondly, the following changes will take place in the mobile phone lot:

The lot will be temporarily relocated behind the John Glenn International sign on International Gateway, near the Rental Car Center.

Vehicles can enter the site from both east and west directions via International Gateway, but only leave the site in an easterly direction.

Drivers can wait in the Green Lot across Stelzer Road. Airport officials said the site now offers a one-hour grace period, allowing people to leave for free within an hour of entering.
The costs are a result of the construction project to create a new terminal at the airport. Like our news partners at WBNS The project is estimated to cost $2 billion, according to Columbus.
The new terminal, which will add seven gates, is expected to be completed in 2029.
