Texas DPS is searching for 3 people who fled after a crash following a chase in Lubbock

The Texas Department of Public Safety and local law enforcement are searching for three people accused of fleeing the scene of an accident after a chase Tuesday afternoon in downtown Lubbock.

According to a DPS news release, troopers initiated a traffic stop Tuesday around 3:16 p.m. for a traffic violation by ignoring a stop sign.

The vehicle then engaged in a chase with troopers near University Avenue and 1st Street and crashed near 45th Street and Avenue P.

According to DPS, this is when two men and a woman fled the vehicle on foot and were not located; however, narcotics were found in the car.

Officials did not have an updated description of the suspects or the vehicle they were in as of late Tuesday.

No arrests have been made at this time.
